While looking like just another technology outsourcing firm, Arcanys is at the forefront of the industry, both helping startups and mid-sized companies to scale their development team, and making meaningful financial investments in early stage startups with its Arcanys Ventures arm.

With already 25+ companies in its portfolio, and 6-8 new investments per year, there is a growing need for a Legal Counsel to support our operations across multiple regions.

What’s this role about?

We need a Legal Counsel familiar with UK law and laws in key European countries (Australian law a plus) to advise on contracts in the startup environment. You'll prepare and review business partnership contracts and sales contracts, ensure compliance with local rules, and liaise with country-specific counsel as needed.

We are flexible with hiring someone part-time (to start) or full-time.

What are the required skills/conditions?

• Major in Law with proven experience as a Legal Counsel in a business/startup environment.

• Strong familiarity with UK law and laws in several European countries (e.g., for contract preparation/review).

• Experience preparing/reviewing busines\s partnership and sales contracts.

• No need for country-specific law qualifications—we need versatility across our operating regions.

• 15+ years working experience

Other requirements

• Australian law knowledge is a plus.

• Excellent project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple contracts simultaneously.

• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, capable of liaising with diverse teams and external counsel.

• Experience in startup/tech environments preferred.

What are the responsibilities?

• Prepare and review business partnership contracts and sales contracts, ensuring adherence to law-established rules and guidelines.

• Advise on legal matters related to UK, European (and ideally Australian) jurisdictions.

• Liaise with country-specific counsel for complex regional issues.

• Support evaluation of partnerships and investments from a legal perspective.

• Contribute to improving internal contract templates and processes.
